North End Modern School was  established by some dedicated and reputed  teachers under leadership of  Late Mrs. Anubha Mukherjee in 1991 .

Subsequently  some eminent personalities of Serampore came forward and offered to undertake technical and financial responsibilities of this school. They formed a registered society entitled "Serampore  Educational and Cultural Organization"  (SECO) and started supporting the School in  various academic and administrative issues.
 
The school building is situated in a lofty area in a natural environment on the main thoroughfare connecting G.T Road and Delhi Road from Nawgan, Serampore. It is at a distant of about 10 minutes drive from the heart of the town at Serampore or Sheoraphuli. Teaching staff are well administered and are of quality. Teacher student ratio does not exceed 1:35. The aim is (i) extension of education as a whole: (ii) to modernise teaching with emphasis on value orientation and moral upliftment: and (iii) to look after overall development of personality, intellect and human Faculties apart from conventional augmentation of academics.
